Not much is known about his early childhood, except that he idolized the former captain of Roma FC and had a deep love for playing football. His dedication did not go unnoticed, as he was scouted by AC Milan and offered a contract to join their youth team.
However, his mother firmly refused, insisting that her son would not leave Rome under any circumstances.
In 1989, Totti joined the youth team of Roma FC, not knowing that he would spend the next two decades playing for the club.
