Bubu Mazibuko was born on December 13, 1975 in Soweto, South Africa.

She is a South African actress and casting director. Following the conflict, riots and apartheid in her country when she was born, Bubu was sent to Swaziland, where she attended as a boarder at the Florence Christian Academy and later came back to her country in 1991.

She went ahead to study Fine Arts until an opportunity arose to study film at the New York Film Academy which she took.
